Terms & Conditions

Effective date: [CONFIRM: publication date]

1. Who we are

These terms apply to bookings with [CONFIRM: legal operator] trading as RPM Autoworks(“RPM”, “we”, “us”). Our geographic address is [CONFIRM: geographic address]. Contact us on 07487 337821 or at info@rpmautoworks.co.uk.

2. Quotes and bookings

Website descriptions and enquiries do not guarantee availability or create a booking. A contract is made when we confirm acceptance of your booking and its price. Before acceptance we provide the agreed service, collection and delivery details, charges, payment arrangements and any special conditions. We provide confirmation and these terms by email or another format you can retain.

Quotes rely on the information you give us. Tell us promptly if it changes. If additional work is needed, we explain the revised price and obtain your agreement before proceeding, except necessary proportionate action to protect people or property in an emergency. You may decline additional work; any charge for work already supplied remains subject to these terms and your legal rights.

3. Charges and payment

Your booking confirmation states the total price or, where it cannot reasonably be calculated in advance, how it will be calculated. It also states any deposit, balance due date, mileage calculation, waiting charges and out-of-hours uplift. No separate charge applies unless disclosed and agreed or otherwise lawfully payable.

Standard website rates apply only within the stated collection area and to suitable vehicles and loads. Specialist recovery and work outside the area are quoted separately. Payment method and timing are confirmed before acceptance. We do not use a general right to hold, sell or dispose of your vehicle under these terms.

4. Information and authority

You must own the vehicle or goods, or have authority to arrange their movement. Provide accurate locations, contacts, dimensions, weights and relevant condition information. Disclose damage, seized brakes, missing wheels, steering faults, low clearance, inaccessible keys, leaks and other loading risks.

Do not include prohibited, dangerous, hazardous or undeclared goods. Remove valuables from vehicles and tell us about goods left inside. This does not remove our responsibility for loss or damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

5. Collection, transport and handover

Collections and deliveries require safe, lawful access and an authorised person where necessary. Work is subject to legal vehicle weights, towing limits, payload, equipment and route suitability. We may decline or stop an unsafe or unlawful job and discuss alternatives and any fairly payable charges.

We record visible condition where practicable and may take job photographs. We use reasonable care and skill during handling and transport. Arrival times are estimates unless expressly agreed as essential. If a material delay occurs, we explain the position and discuss reasonable options.

Where RPM contracts with you for a service delivered by a subcontractor, RPM remains responsible for its contractual obligations. An introduction to a separate supplier must be clearly identified before booking.

6. Your statutory cancellation rights

If you are a consumer booking a service online, by telephone or off our business premises, you will normally have a 14-day cancellation period from the day after the contract is made, unless a lawful exception applies. We explain applicable exceptions before acceptance; we do not assume every recovery or vehicle transport booking is exempt.

To cancel, tell us clearly by telephone, email or post using the details above. You may use the model form below, but do not have to.

If you want a service to start during the cancellation period, we obtain your express request before starting. If you then cancel, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied, provided the required information and request were obtained. You lose the cancellation right for a fully performed service only where the necessary express consent and acknowledgment were obtained. If required information or consent was missing, the applicable statutory rules govern what we may charge.

For off-premises contracts, the early-start request is recorded on a durable medium. Personalised goods may be excluded from the change-of-mind cancellation right; faulty or misdescribed goods remain protected.

7. Other cancellations

Outside a statutory cancellation entitlement, our recovery and transport cancellation charges are:

  • before dispatch: no charge
  • after dispatch but before arrival: up to £37.50
  • after arrival: up to £75

These are maximum cancellation amounts rather than automatic penalties. The amount charged reflects reasonable net loss caused by cancellation, with costs saved and opportunities to reduce losses taken into account. [CONFIRM: cancellation amounts]

Necessary third-party costs already incurred may be charged only where disclosed, reasonably incurred, irrecoverable and not already included in the cancellation amount. No double recovery applies. Any statutory right to cancel or receive a refund takes priority.

If RPM cancels and does not supply the service, we refund payment for the unprovided service. This does not limit any further remedy you may have by law.

8. Number plates

Road-use plates are supplied only following the required identity and registration-entitlement checks and must meet applicable requirements. We confirm the registration, spelling, specification and price before manufacture. You should check those details carefully; we remain responsible for our own manufacturing errors.

Products made to your specification may not qualify for change-of-mind returns. Your legal rights for faulty, incorrect or misdescribed goods remain unaffected. We do not represent non-compliant display plates as lawful for road use.

9. Mapping

Mapping is subject to a suitability assessment and an agreed scope. We explain proposed changes and known material risks before work. Existing faults may need investigation or repair first; further work requires agreement.

Quoted performance or economy figures are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. Tell your insurer about relevant modifications and check applicable finance or warranty conditions. Road-use work must remain lawful; these terms do not authorise removal or defeat of required emissions systems.

These provisions do not exclude our liability for damage caused by our breach, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.

10. Problems, damage and complaints

Report concerns as soon as reasonably possible, with the booking reference and photographs if available, so we can investigate. An immediate signed handover does not remove your legal rights, and there is no arbitrary short claim deadline.

Contact info@rpmautoworks.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and provide a substantive response within 14 working days or explain any delay. [CONFIRM: complaint response times]

If a consumer complaint cannot be resolved, we provide the information about an appropriate certified alternative dispute resolution body and whether we are obliged or willing to use it, as required.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Consumer statutory rights remain unaffected, including the right to reasonable care and skill and applicable remedies.

For consumers, we are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach. We are not responsible for a pre-existing defect solely because it exists, but remain responsible if our actions negligently worsen it.

Separate business freight, pallet, storage or international carriage terms must be provided and accepted before such bookings where needed, including any applicable mandatory transport convention.

12. Website use and governing law

Website material and RPM branding must not be copied commercially without permission. Do not misuse the website, submit unlawful material or attempt unauthorised access.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to them where they live. Changes apply to future bookings unless agreed or required by law.
